When the sun rises at dawn, revealing rolling hills and forests as far as the eye can see, you could be forgiven for thinking that civilization is a million miles away. Yet, with the medieval city of Carcassonne so close by, offering vibrant markets, sight-seeing, wine tasting, and great dining, fine beaches nearby, the house is the perfect base in a culturally rich region, for your movie-setting epic learning adventure!

Let’s get this straight right from the start — French food is simply delicious — perfect for our vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. It's no secret that French cuisine is one of the best in the world. And it's also no secret why it is! Freshly baked bread, a plethora of scrumptious cheeses, and melt-in-your-mouth croissants all washed down with the finest French wine; French cuisine truly is a dream. If you are returning, you will be happy to know the talented & lovable Chef Matthew will be back with us again this year! Much of the food is sourced from the organic garden on-site and local markets for freshness and quality.

Of course, no trip to France would be complete without exploring the beautiful French countryside.
Step back in time to another world in the fortified medieval town of Carcassonne with its famed fairytale turrets and commanding views over the vineyards of southern France. And yup — don’t worry, you’ll also have some time to do your own shopping if you need some extra retail therapy! (I’ll be happy to give you MY secret shopping list if you like, I promise I’ll share.)
